｜Magnolia - An Elegant Flower Heralding the Arrival of Spring

Let me introduce you to my artwork featuring magnolias. I tried to express the elegance and mysterious charm of these beautiful flowers that signal the arrival of spring.

In this piece, I focused on a species of magnolia closely related to the original wild variety found in the mountains. I paid particular attention to the composition of the delicate, purplish petals and the branches supporting them. The flowers are slightly smaller in size, but I believe this allowed me to capture a more natural appearance.

A distinctive aspect of this painting is the use of space. By effectively utilizing the empty spaces, I created a sense of airiness in the arrangement of the magnolia branches and flowers. This airiness gives the impression that the sky is extending beyond the branches. The composition as a whole conveys a light and refined atmosphere.
